Description
Under general direction, is responsible for performing complex professional legal work involving research, consultation, drafting, and negotiation of various legal documents on behalf of the City of San Antonio. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment.
This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

Requirements
Job Requirements for Assistant City Attorney I:
- L.L.B. or J.D. Degree from an accredited school of law.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
- No substitution for education allowed.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
Job Requirements for Assistant City Attorney II:
- L.L.B. or J.D. Degree from an accredited school of law.
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience as a practicing Attorney.
- Years of full-time municipal law experience may be substituted two (2) for one (1), up to a maximum of four years credit.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
- No substitution for education allowed.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
Job Requirements for Assistant City Attorney III:
- L.L.B. or J.D. Degree from an accredited school of law.
- Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience as a practicing Attorney.
- Years of full-time municipal law experience may be substituted two (2) for one (1), up to a maximum of four years credit.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
- No substitution for education allowed.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
