- Associate Attorney
Description
The associate attorney will be required to perform substantive legal work independently and/or under the direction of one or more senior attorneys in the office. An associate's primary goal is to move our clients' cases by effectively and independently performing substantive legal tasks.
Essential Job Function

1. Prepare, draft, review, and file legal documents.
2. Strategically counsel clients and potential clients on legal matters.
3. Answer client questions regarding plea offers, legal proceedings, charges, and other related questions.
4. Communicate with senior associates, legal assistants, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
5. Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, Legal assistants, and support staff.
6. Defend cases in court.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of company services, policies, and procedures.
2. Skill in completing multiple tasks at once.
- Skill in oral and written communication, including Spanish communications.
- Skill in operating office and technological equipment and software.
- Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and customers.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to organize daily activities of self and others and work as a team player.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and carry boxes of supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am. to 4:30 p.m. Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to work shifts or be on call. It may be necessary to work extra hours to finish a job. Must be available 24 hours a day.
Travel
Some travel is required.
Required Education and Experience
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of the Florida Bar and licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
