Description
We have several openings for associate positions at Josephson Dunlap, LLP for attorneys with at least two years of experience. We are a nationwide wage and hour law firm dedicated to helping workers recover their unpaid overtime wages through class and collective actions and arbitrations. A description of our firm and practice can be found at www.mybackwages.com. We are hiring litigators, briefing attorneys, and attorneys who can work in our settlement department. Experience in wage and hour litigation or employment law is a plus, but not a requirement. We are interested in qualified candidates from both sides of the bar but only those who are driven and looking to improve their professional and financial trajectory.
Compensation package does include a salary, discretionary and non-discretionary bonuses, paid health benefits, and bar dues.

Requirements
The positions we are hiring for include the following roles and responsibilities:
Litigators:
- Advocacy: Litigators will represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings. Litigators will prepare for and participate in trials and arbitration hearings with the assigned Partner.
- Discovery: Litigators will be responsible for drafting written discovery, deficiency notices, subpoenas and assisting legal team to respond to discovery served on clients. Litigators will assist in review of documents produced in response to discovery.
- Drafting Legal Documents: Litigators will prepare or assist in preparation of legal pleadings, motions, correspondence and other required documents.
- Settlement Negotiations: Litigators will be responsible for engaging in settlement negotiations, participating in mediation and attending formal/informal settlement conferences.
- Case Management/Collaboration: Litigators will assist team in the proactive management of docket of active/settled cases.
- Hours: Litigators should have the ability to work 50 hours a week with occasional travel and weekend work.
Briefing/Settlement attorneys:
- Legal Research/Analysis: Briefing/settlement attorneys will be responsible for working with our briefing team to conduct legal research and writing. Briefing attorneys will need to be familiar with the applicable laws, precedent, and relevant authorities related to the specific claims and defenses at issue in each case.
- Legal writing/Motion practice: Briefing attorneys will be responsible for drafting or responding to motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, motions to compel, appeals, pre-trial and trial briefs, and certification related briefs.
- Settlement: Settlement attorneys will assist litigators and briefing team by finalizing settlement agreements, motions to approve settlements (state and federal court) and conducting legal research on the applicable standards for approval.
- Hours: Briefing/settlement attorneys should have the ability to work 50 hours a week and occasional weekends. No travel is required. Open to hybrid schedules.
