Associate Attorney – Civil & Employment Litigation
Full-Time | Onsite in Downtown Los Angeles
A well-established and respected litigation firm in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of civil and/or employment litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity for a driven attorney to work on diverse, high-profile cases in both civil and employment law, from intake through resolution, in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
We are looking for an attorney with strong litigation skills who thrives on complex casework, enjoys client interaction, and can confidently handle matters independently while working closely with partners and co-counsel.
Key Practice Areas
Employment Litigation: Wage & Hour Disputes, PAGA Claims, Class Actions, Wrongful Termination, Harassment & Discrimination, California Labor Code Violations
Civil Litigation: Premises Liability, Security Industry Defense, Insurance Coverage, Commercial Litigation, Rideshare & Transportation Defense, Automobile Accidents
Core Responsibilities
Manage cases from pre-litigation through settlement, arbitration, or trial
Draft complaints, motions, arbitration demands, pleadings, and supporting briefs
Propound and respond to discovery in a timely and strategic manner
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Analyze and summarize medical, employment, and other case-related records
Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive memoranda
Argue motions and oppositions in court or arbitration settings
Collaborate with partners, co-counsel, and clients to advance litigation strategy
Ensure all procedural deadlines are met and cases progress efficiently
Qualifications
Experience: 3–5 years in civil litigation and/or employment litigation
Strong knowledge of California employment law, procedural rules, and civil litigation processes
Proven deposition and motion practice skills
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities
Ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously
Familiarity with class actions, wage & hour disputes, PAGA claims, and discrimination cases a plus
