SALARY
The minimum salary is $75,306.40 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to provide legal representation and legal counsel to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, its departments, divisions, boards, officials, and employees.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Juris Doctor
No experience required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Researches, drafts and reviews documents including motions and other court pleadings, memoranda of law, legal briefs, contracts, internal policies and other communications
Advises departments, divisions, boards, officials and employees on legal questions and concerns
Represents LFUCG in court and other legal proceedings
Prepares legislation
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Must be a member of the Kentucky Bar or have the ability to become a member within six (6) months of employment for permanent appointment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
