The Tampa office of Hamilton Miller & Birthisel, LLP is seeking an associate who has been a Fla. Bar licensed attorney for 2-6 years with the majority of that time spent litigating civil, insurance defense cases. Specific consideration will be given to those with actual litigation experience in defending: Property Cases (1st and 3rd party); Auto Cases, including Commercial Transportation and cases in Admiralty/Maritime. The applicant must have not only court room experience but also experience in taking depositions, reporting to clients and billing. Our firm is experiencing significant growth both in the Tampa Bay area and throughout Florida and this is a great opportunity for an experienced associate to develop invaluable litigation skills. Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various cases
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals
- Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals in the firm
- Manage a caseload from inception to resolution
