The City of Palm Bay is seeking an experienced and highly qualified individual to join our dynamic legal team as Chief Deputy City Attorney. . This is a highly responsible position requiring a minimum of 7 years of experience in civil or administrative law. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in land use law, infrastructure projects and contract drafting, including, development agreements, proportionate fair share agreements, right of way agreements, easements, and utility agreements. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the legal framework of one of the fastest growing cities in the country.
Requirements
Provide legal advice and counsel to City staff and Planning and Zoning on zoning and land use issues. Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements including development agreements, proportionate fair share agreements, utility agreements, right of way agreements, and easements. Reviews maintenance and performance bonds. Provides advice on abandoned construction projects and nuisance properties. Functions as Acting City Attorney in the absence of the City Attorney.
