Description
Consultation Attorney
Acquisitions - Fairfax, VirginiaVirginia Bar license required. Maryland and DC Bar license a plus
Overview
PJI Law, PLC, a boutique, service-focused, and fast-growing law firm headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a motivated Consultation Attorney to join our client development team.
This is not a traditional attorney role. Instead, it is an opportunity for an attorney to leverage legal acumen, credibility, and emotional intelligence in a client-facing, consultative sales position—without the dynamics of court deadlines, billable hour tracking, or adversarial opposing counsel.
A successful candidate will be engaged in diagnosing the best ways to add value to a consultation and bring clients the best possible outcomes and peace of mind: case evaluation, client guidance, and identification of solutions.
Why This Role? Leave These Behind:
- No billable hour requirements
- No courtroom stress
- No last-minute emergency filings
- No chess matches with opposing counsel
- No trial prep or deliverable deadlines
Instead, Focus On:
- Strategic legal consultations with potential new clients
- Providing clear, credible legal guidance that earns trust
- Advising potential clients on how PJI Law can help solve their problems
- Collaborating with the firm’s attorneys and leadership to refine the scope of cases where the firm can create the most value
- Providing counsel to our intake team on scheduling consultations and on helping leads through outbound referrals if we cannot directly assist
- Building partnerships and supporting sales leadership in strategic presentations to generate new leads
- Conducting warm calls, texts, and emails to develop relationships with potential new clients
Our firm is professionally managed, and our office is a team environment. You will be working with other dedicated members of our team who work hard to get the job done right, who take pride in their work, and who support each other through thick and thin. Our firm has earned the prestigious “Great Place to Work” certification every year since 2022. Our approach has allowed us to succeed and build a loyal client base that has sustained our strong growth and has earned us various awards as well as enthusiastic client reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct empathetic attorney consultations for Estate Administration, Fiduciary Litigation, Civil Litigation, Business Transactions, and Estate Planning.
- Evaluate client needs and legal viability, providing honest, clear guidance.
- Collaborate directly with legal department leads to understand evolving firm criteria for case acceptance.
- Provide counsel to our intake team, helping them understand case suitability and improving lead quality.
- Engage in lead generation efforts, including supporting the Director of Sales in partnership presentations and professional networking.
- Conduct warm outreach via calls, texts, and emails to potential new clients.
- Deliver seminars or workshops (some evenings/weekends as needed).
- Maintain organized CRM records of consultations, follow-ups, and client interactions.
- Ensure strong client service check-ins post-handoff, maintaining long-term client relationships, and encouraging referrals.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Virginia State Bar admission required (Maryland and DC are a plus).
- Litigation experience is a plus, but not required. If you’re a go-getter who’s eager to learn, PJI Law will invest in your growth with in-house training from experienced attorneys, covering our practice areas as well as consultative selling and communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence: able to read people, communicate clearly, and build trust.
- Self-motivated, organized, and driven to achieve personal and firm growth goals.
- Committed to giving credible, high-quality advice—not pushing what the client doesn’t need.
- Interested in uncapped earning potential through consultative sales success.
- Comfortable working closely with intake teams, attorneys, referral partners, and sales leadership.
