Description
Will assist by helping serve the firm’s diverse client base in a wide variety of matters (e.g., complex business and real estate disputes, creditor’s rights litigation, employment and partnership matters, construction).
Requirements
Experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures related to litigation.
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw databases.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice to clients.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
Required Skills/Abilities - - 10 years of experience
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in all aspects of litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice and trial.
- Experience investigating claims, preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, interacting with expert witnesses, and all aspects of motion practice.
- Able to prepare for, take, and defend depositions, and have prior experience in drafting dispositive, expert, and/or discovery motions.
- A desire to maintain and develop long-term client relationships.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Ability to handle settlement negotiations throughout the lifecycle of a case.
- Ability to supervise and delegate work to paralegals and other legal support staff.
- Ability to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
