Access the Law is a nonprofit law firm that specializes in civil litigation and Veteran legal services. Our mission is to provide high quality legal services to individuals and families who would otherwise forgo legal representation due to expense. We are seeking to add a new full-time Staff Attorney to our team. The Staff Attorney will represent clients in a variety of civil conflicts and legal disputes. Responsibilities of the Staff Attorney will be split between providing legal services to Veterans that are homeless or at-risk for homelessness and retained fee-for-service clients. Case types will include family law, estate planning and probate, landlord tenant and housing related disputes, small claims, and other civil matters.
Staff Attorneys at Access the Law have a great deal of autonomy in their schedules and time management. Attorneys are able to work remotely and on-site (dependent on case type and client needs).

Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Admitted to practice law in good standing in Oregon.
- Strong litigation, research, and writing skills.
- Strong legal ethics comprehension.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to public interest legal representation.
- Excellent diverse people skills with demonstrated cultural competency.
- Good communicator; Strong team member.
Physical capabilities: Able to work at a computer consistently for at least eight hours a day (with lunch and other appropriate breaks), 40 hours per week.
