Description
A Washington, D.C.-based boutique law firm with a national real estate regulatory and compliance practice seeks an associate attorney with 3–5 years of law firm experience.
The firm's practice focuses on federal and state regulatory matters involving the marketing and sale of real estate, including condominiums, planned communities, timeshare programs, and other fractional ownership interests. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop specialized expertise within a sophisticated national practice while working directly with clients and assuming meaningful responsibility early in one's career. Because of the firm's niche practice area, substantial training, mentorship, and support will be provided. At the same time, the successful candidate will be independent, resourceful, and genuinely interested in developing expertise in a highly specialized field.
Candidates with a background in real estate law are strongly preferred. Experience with condominium, planned community, and homeowners' association regimes is highly desirable. Regulatory experience is a plus.

- Research, analyze, and apply statutory and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions;
- Review marketing and promotional materials for compliance with applicable legal requirements;

- Monitor deadlines and regulatory requirements to ensure timely and accurate filings.
Active admission in the District of Columbia, or active admission in another jurisdiction with the ability to immediately waive into the District of Columbia, is required. Active admission in New York, or eligibility to promptly waive in, is a plus.
The firm provides a collegial and professional culture, opportunities for professional development, competitive compensation, and benefits (including a 401(k) plan and health insurance). The position is currently in-office, aligning with the firm's approach to training and professional development. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered in the future based on performance. This position offers the rare combination of sophisticated, nationally recognized legal work, direct client engagement, and the opportunity to develop subject-matter expertise, all within a small-firm setting that provides autonomy, collegiality, and a sustainable approach to practice.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, and compensation expectations via email to [email protected]. Applications that do not include all requested materials will not be considered.
