The Position
We are seeking a seasoned commercial litigator with a minimum of five (5) years of experience to join our litigation practice. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of commercial and real estate-related disputes, work closely with the firm's transactional attorneys on litigation arising from complex transactions, and interface directly with clients at all stages of proceedings. This is a substantive, hands-on litigation role with genuine opportunity for growth and advancement within the firm.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and prosecute commercial litigation matters in New York State Supreme Court, federal district court, and applicable appellate courts
Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings, pre-trial motions, discovery, depositions, trial preparation and trials
Draft and argue dispositive motions and preliminary injunctions
Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses
Advise clients on litigation risk, case strategy, and settlement positioning
Collaborate with transactional attorneys on disputes arising from real estate closings, business acquisitions, contract breaches, and related commercial matters
Manage litigation timelines, court deadlines, and client communications with minimal supervision
Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff on assigned matters
